H3C's EHS Management System

H3C has developed the environmental, and occupational health and safety management goals and indices following the guidelines of ISO 14001 (the ISO environment management system) and OHSA 18001 (the occupational health and safety management system) for environment health and safety (EHS). The EHS guidelines of H3C are green design, clean production, health and safety, companywide commitment, continuous improvement, and harmonious development.

The following are the milestones of the H3C EHS management system:

On December 15, 2005, the H3C environmental management system (following the ISO 1400: 2004) was approved by the UK committee and the Norway committee of Det Norske Veritas (DNV), a renowned international authentication organization based on Oslo. On the same day, the H3C occupational health and safety management system (OHSAS 18001: 1999) was approved by the Norway committee of DNV.

On January 26, 2006, H3C passed the annual auditing performed by DNV on the H3C EHS management system (including ISO 14001: 2004 and OHSAS 18001: 1999).

The H3C EHS management system encompasses various aspects including energy saving, contamination confinement, potential environmental hazards control, dangerous operation management, occupational disease prevention, employee rights and interests safeguarding. The system adopts the lifecycle analysis approach, introduces the green design strategy, and systematically establishes the preventive environmental protection and safety rationale.

H3C takes a clean production approach, making significant efforts in energy saving, consumption reduction, contamination reduction, and efficiency improvement.

H3C also takes great concern about employee health and safety. A comprehensive health and safety management system has been established in consistent with the idea of H3C growing together with employees, partners, the society, and the nature. H3C thus has devoted great efforts in training employees on environmental and safety issues, promoting the environmental protection and safety consciousness of employees, and encouraging employees to participate in environmental protection and health and safety management. H3C makes significant efforts in addressing issues that can impact the environment, health and safety, devoting to the development and health and safety of human beings.
