H3C's Practices in Poisonous and Hazardous Substance Control

Setting Up an Environmental Protection System

Based on standards such as RoHS, H3C has established its own environmental protection standard and environmental protection supply system to ensure that the suppliers comply with the environmental protection requirements.

When certifying product components and new materials, H3C investigates their environmental protection information and requires that hazardous substances be declared with reports issued by qualified test organizations. In addition, H3C has established means of detecting hazardous substances by purchasing professional test instruments and performing periodic test and sampling test, so as to ensure environmental compliance of components and restrict the use of hazardous substances.

Setting up internal standards, H3C has defined and listed the forbidden and content-to-be-controlled chemicals. Through database management, H3C is to apply the information throughout the whole process covering product design, material purchase, manufacturing and so on.

Accountability for Promoting Environmental Protection

By exploring and promoting of lead-free PCB soldering techniques, H3C achieves significant progress, contributing to the development of electronic mounting techniques of China’s electronics industry.

H3C devotes itself to the formulation of green design directives and regulations.

H3C participated in the work of the China RoHS Standards Working Group (Ministry of Information Industry) to formulate China’s RoHS directives jointly with Huawei.

In March 2007, H3C participated in the meetings of the IEC/TC111 WG2 International Workgroup to review the international standard IEC 62430 Environmentally Conscious Design for Electrical and Electronic Products and Systems.

H3C participated in the eco-design activities of IEC.

H3C joined the Electronic and Information Product Pollution Prevention Workgroup.

H3C became a member of the Household Electrical Appliances Eco-Production Club.
